It certainly wreckes Church’s argument that this protects against diseases.
I would argue that Church is often proxy in teenage abstinance. Although there are some priests trying to persuade some boys not to.

I think christian youth have the same needs than everyone else but as they can’t educate themselves about risks that go with sexuality they fall prey to such diseases more often.
